Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 500117] Re: kde bad screen resolution after login
Well, I figured out how to fix that : there was a kdedisplayrc config file in my .kde folder (like .kde/share/app/config/) I simply removed it, relogged and then the resolution was the same that the login screen one, and the right one by the way. Then, I checked and the file didn't event appear again. In my case, It was eventually OK ! - Mail Original - De: Monkey monkey.li...@gmail.com À: romainmad...@free.fr Envoyé: Mardi 29 Décembre 2009 22h35:23 GMT +01:00 Amsterdam / Berlin / Berne / Rome / Stockholm / Vienne Objet: [Bug 500117] Re: kde bad screen resolution after login I assign this bug to xorg package. Status in AMD fglrx video driver: New Status in KDE Base Workspace: New Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I don't know what I did but from now on I can't succeed to have the right screen resolution when my system starts. Exactly, It seems resolution is right by the login step, then my profile is loaded and resolution becomes 640x480 though I forced my xorg.conf by putting only Modes 1280x800 in the Screen Section. I have to shell xrandr --output default --mode 1280x800 so as to get the right one. My problem must be linked to something wrong with my fglrx drivers, because now though aticonfig runs fine, I can't launch amdcccle (catalyst center) nor fglrxinfo, both return : X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation) Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString) Serial number of failed request: 17 Current serial number in output stream: 17 Then If I go in kubuntu monitor settings and then set the right resolution, It changes completely my xorg.conf and restarting the system leads to a login screen with the wrong resolution as well as a wrong resolution getting to the desktop. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 388018] Re: [jaunty] back to log screen after entering password
Well I'm sorry, I found it was due to the enabling of the clean startup service from the kubuntu control panel. this one seems to act as if it was cleaning sorts of sockets created before by ksmserver and consequently, this latter can't find its own track and fell in some kind of login loop. everything's ok after disabling it ! - Mail Original - De: Bryce Harrington br...@bryceharrington.org À: romainmad...@free.fr Envoyé: Vendredi 26 Juin 2009 02h35:07 GMT +01:00 Amsterdam / Berlin / Berne / Rome / Stockholm / Vienne Objet: [Bug 388018] Re: [jaunty] back to log screen after entering password ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- [jaunty] back to log screen after entering password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388018 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug.
