[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1245889] Re: Projector Powerlite 8350 is not recognized on nVidia 2000M

2014-01-09 Thread Saverio Miroddi
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 regression reproducible
third-party-packages trusty

** Description changed:

I have a Lenovo W520 laptop, with an nVidia Quadro 2000M; in the BIOS,
I've configured the system to use only the discrete graphics card.

When I plug my Epson Powerlite 8350 projector (using the base nouveau
drivers), it's not recognized, so the maximum resolution I can use is
  1024x768.

If I use the nvidia-319, it's still not recognized.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1245889] [NEW] Projector Powerlite 8350 is not recognized on nVidia 2000M

2013-10-29 Thread Saverio Miroddi
Public bug reported:

I have a Lenovo W520 laptop, with an nVidia Quadro 2000M; in the BIOS,
I've configured the system to use only the discrete graphics card.

When I plug my Epson Powerlite 8350 projector (using the base nouveau
drivers), it's not recognized, so the maximum resolution I can use is
1024x768.

If I use the nvidia-319, it's still not recognized.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 818535] [NEW] GUI freezes

2011-07-30 Thread Saverio Miroddi
Public bug reported:

Sometimes (difficult to estimate, possibly once in 40 (or less) hours of
usage, the GUI freezes.

The mouse keeps going, the rest is unusable. If there is something in the
background, it keeps running.
In order to workaround the problem, I can switch to another terminal and kill
the gui from there, and restart it.

This comparatively almost never happened with the previous Ubuntu
releases I've used.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 818537] [NEW] Interface loads with strange theme

2011-07-30 Thread Saverio Miroddi
Public bug reported:

Sometimes (difficult to estimate, possibly 1 on 20 times) the interface
loads with a strage theme, which is much simpler.

As a reference, I can say it's something resembling this:
http://j.mp/q4iPV5.

Logging out and in works the problem around.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 502108] Re: Move to workspace Down without any down workspace

2010-05-11 Thread Saverio Miroddi
I tested on Lucid Netbook remix. I had 4 workspaces in a row, and I was able to
see Move to workspace (up/down/left) on a window on second workspace from the
left, while having four workspaces in a row.
The drivers are nvidia proprietary, though - not ati anymore, because the
machine is different.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 502108] [NEW] Move to workspace Down without any down workspace

2010-01-01 Thread Saverio Miroddi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I have to workspaces besides each other.
When I click on a task icon that's on the right workspace, I find in the list
the entry Move to workspace down, which is a wrong definition, as it should
be Move to workspace left, though it appropriately moves to the left
workspace.
This happens often, though not always.

When I click on a task icon that's on the left workspace, the wording is
correct (Move to workspace right).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 502190] [NEW] Disabling one monitor in multi-monitor configuration doesn't turn it off

2010-01-01 Thread Saverio Miroddi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

If I disable one of the two monitors in my multi-monitor configuration,
it doesn't turn off, but it just blanks.

I have a Sanyo PLV-Z5 projector connected to my DELL Studio XPS 16 (1640).
I generally watch DVDs on the projector, so I configure from Display Settings
the projector to be the main monitor, and the laptop's to be off.

I'm expecting the laptop monitor to be turned off, assuming this is
standard behavior (at least, the dialog says off, and windows turns it
off).

I can always reproduce this behavior.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 482614] Re: Primary and secondary screens goes blank when enabling only the second.

2009-12-29 Thread Saverio Miroddi
I can't reproduce it anymore.
I think in the meanwhile there has been an update in the video card drivers
(not 100% sure).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 482614] [NEW] Primary and secondary screens goes blank when enabling only the second.

2009-11-14 Thread Saverio Miroddi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

When I try to enabled my secondary screen only, both the primary and the
secondary ones goes blank.

I use to watch DVDs with a projector, so it'd be handy to have the
laptop display disabled and the projector one enabled.

If I try to enable both, both work properly.
When I disable the laptop one, both goes blank.

The bug is reproducible every time.
