[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 553415] Re: mouse trapped in box for Open Motif

2010-07-14 Thread Stephen Warren
Marking invalid in nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) since this
is an X server bug, not an NVIDIA graphics driver bug.

Adding xorg-server (Ubuntu) to Affects list, and marking Confirmed
per confirmed status here (albeit wrong module) and in other bugs.

See bug 574157 for other discussion and background.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 574157] Re: Right click on graph'ed obj locks ddd/Ubuntu

2010-05-12 Thread Stephen Warren
In my PPA, I rebuilt Lucid's xorg-server package with patch 0001-dix-
if-owner-events-is-true-for-passive-grabs-add-th.patch
(http://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=32100) applied (from
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25400). This solved the
problem.

Hence, I will mark this bug invalid in ddd, since it's an X server
bug.

I will mark this bug confirmed' in X server (Ubuntu) since at least 3
people are seeing it.

Hopefully, this patch or similar can be applied to the official Ubuntu
package.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 362359] Re: Focus gets stuck to a window - impossible to select other windows

2010-05-07 Thread Stephen Warren
petter wahlman (comment #44), I suspect your bug is different; with ddd,
there's a very specific and reproducible way to make this happen. That
issue is covered by bug 574157. My quick reading of the rest of this bug
is that it's something that happens randomly to people whilst not doing
anything specific and/or repeatable.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 432172] [NEW] nvidia-180-libvdpau packages both libvdpau and libvdpau_nvidia

2009-09-17 Thread Stephen Warren
Public bug reported:

According to
http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/i386/nvidia-180-libvdpau/filelist, the
package nvidia-180-libvdpau includes not just the NVIDIA VDPAU driver,
but also the VDPAU wrapper and trace libraries (libvdpau.so*,
libvdpau_trace.so*). Moving forward, it should only contain the NVIDIA
driver; the wrapper/trace libraries should be packaged elsewhere.

The rationale behind this is that VDPAU headers, the wrapper and trace library
are all freely licensed, and hopefully soon to become a standard API with
multiple implementations. At some unspecified point in the future,
the NVIDIA-provided driver packages (NVIDIA-*.run) will no longer ship these
files. However, the NVIDIA implementation itself will still be part of our
driver, and should continue to be packaged as such.

In summary, I expect the following packages to exist:

libvdpau (free):
(built from freedesktop.org source; see URL below)

/usr/lib/libvdpau.so.1 -
/usr/lib/libvdpau.so.XXX
/usr/lib/libvdpau_trace.so -
/usr/lib/libvdpau_trace.so.XXX

libvdpau-dev (free):
(built from freedesktop.org source; see URL below)

/usr/include/vdpau/vdpau.h
/usr/include/vdpau/vdpau_x11.h
/usr/lib/libvdpau.so - /usr/lib/libvdpau.so.1

nvidia-180-libvdpau (restricted):
(built from NVIDIA .run file)

/usr/lib/libvdpau_nvidia.so -
/usr/lib/libvdpau_nvidia.so.185.18.36

(where - denotes a symlink)

FYI, see also:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg-announce/2009-September/001036.html

This applies to both nvidia-180-* and nvidia-185-*.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 358421] Re: video frames aren't synched to vblank

2009-05-28 Thread Stephen Warren
For VDPAU output, this should be fixed in recent 185.18.* beta drivers.
It won't be fixed in the 180.* release series.
