[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 685682] Re: [fglrx] compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect()

2011-01-24 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
Ok, to clarify: this happens with the radeon driver too. I try to start
unity since the first alpha versions, never got it work. The only thing
that has changed is that I get an Info in the latest dailys that my
hardware is not supported (ATI X600M). Compiz on 10.10 runs smooth with
the free drivers.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 618277] Re: (Maverick) 1px border around desktop

2010-08-15 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
This is not relateted to xserver-xorg-video-intel, because I don't even
have an Intel GFX-Card. I'm using an AMD X600. By the way: the Issue
goes away for a while when using nautilus -q.

So please: chage the related package back to Nautilus.

Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 378671] Re: mouse cursor disappears when stationary

2010-06-28 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
The Reason for this on Maverick is the package unclutter. I never
noticed this tool in Lucid, so I guess it's new. I didn't find a way to
disable it, so I pruged it. Maybe the default behavior should be
changed.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 570433] [NEW] [Lucid, M24] Garbage playing Videos with UMS, Textured Video Fullscreen

2010-04-26 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

After having slowdowns and Video playback problems with KMS, I switched
to UMS via radeon.modeset=0.

Problem as follows: Video Playback works only in Fullscreen, but not
when windowed. I only get Sound and a black Window there. So I switched
Video output to X11/XShm/Xv via gstreamer-proberties with radeon
textured video.

The result was satisfying with windowed Totem, in Fullscreen I get what
you can see on the attatched Screenshot.

With the last updates in Lucid, the ati/radeon xorg drivers are getting
slower and slower. Scrolling in Apllications is lagging, every single
Sreensaver is stuttering (even the simplest) and Compiz is also slow.

The Performance is a bit better when adding

Option MigrationHeuristicgreedy

to the device section in xorg.conf.

I'm using an Ati X600M here.

I know its not a serious Benchmark, but I remember that I've had more

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 533784] Re: [Radeon kernel module] drmRadeonCmdBuffer: -12. Kernel failed to parse or rejected command stream

2010-04-12 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
I guess I have the same problem here.

Symptoms:

Running 3D-Apps causes the X-Server to hang up (white Screen) and leads
to an unusable System. The same happens when trying to change the
resolution.

Hardware:

Asus V6V, Pentium M, 2GB Ram and an ATI X600M.

I'm not shure, but maybe my Bug #549601 is a duplicate of this? The Symptoms go
away when disabling KMS withradeon.modeset=0 on grub cmd.

Edit: I noticed tha same behaviour when switching to a lower resolution

Countdown that brought back the Screen. So it seem that this isn't just
with 3D-Apps.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 549601] [NEW] Radeon: No Fullscreen-Games with KMS enabled

2010-03-27 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

With KMS enabled, no Fullscreen 3D games are possible. I only get a
white Screen, the System does not respond. I can change to tty1, but I'm
not able to kill the hanging Application. Only restart is possible.

When disabling KMS via radeon.modeset=0 on Grub, everything is fine.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 504254] [NEW] Lucid Lynx: /usr/bin/X: Segmentation fault at address (nil)

2010-01-07 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I hope this time i filed the Bug in the right place. On Lucid (incl.
updates from 07.01.10) X is aborting when GDM should load. I'm getting
an Ubuntu runs in low graphics mode message. Continuing in low
graphics mode works only when Ubuntu was started with the nomodeset
Kernel Option.

When not using this, returning to the Console in Low Graphics Mode
Options does not work, I only get a black screen.

Using nomodeset, returning to the console and do a startx, I get
the following messages:

22: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x1e931) [0x8066931]
Segmentation fault at address (nil)

Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting

After trying two or three times, startx works sometimes, sometimes not.
