[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1879402] Re: [amdgpu] Proper monitor resolution/refresh rate not available
I've been having something similar with my 20.04 system. Every day, whenever I leave my computer on but turn off displays, one of the three monitors is locked at 640x480 when I power my monitors back on. It also happened when power settings turned off displays automatically, which I've subsequently disabled. My GPU: Radeon RX6650 XT Driver: xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu - 19.1.0-1ubuntu0.1 I've discovered a fix by going into Display Config and disable the bad monitor. Once I re-enable. I can the change its resolution to a proper setting. This is not an intermittent issue but happens like clockwork. Should I open a different ticket for this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879402 Title: [amdgpu] Proper monitor resolution/refresh rate not available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1879402/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I've upgraded to Ubuntu 19.10 and used the PPA that you recommended and the error is still there. I could give you a patch with the changes that I made to ac_rtld.c that fixed the problem for my computer. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1822394] Re: [Dell BIOSes dated 27 Mar 2019] laptop keyboard & touchpad not working at gdm screen after boot
I believe I have a workaround provided by a kernel engineer I was discussing the issue with. Adding the following to the kernel boot options resulted in the keyboard and touchpad working without issue: i8042.nomux=1 i8042.reset It appears that Dell uses i8042 to emulate a ps/2 interface rather than using USB for the built-in keyboard and touchpad. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1822394] Re: [Dell BIOSes dated 27 Mar 2019] laptop keyboard & touchpad not working at gdm screen after boot
I can confirm I have encountered this issue with BIOS v. 1.6.1 from 21 Jul 2019 Device - Dell XPS 15 9575 Intel Core i7-8705G BIOS - version 1.6.1 OS - Fedora 30 Kernel - kernel-5.1.19-300 Additional info: - I have an encrypted root partition. During boot, I am able to usethe keyboard for <1 second at the screen where I enter the password for the root partition. Then the keyboard is disabled. - I tested this with a previously installed kernel 5.0.9-301 and I was able to use the keyboard to enter the password for the root partition, but once I arrive at the login screen for fedora the keyboard/touchpad is unusable (cannot even switch TTYs) - Using the grub boot menu option "fedora rescue" which is installed by default with fedora, I am able to use the keyboard to login without issue. I'm happy to share any additional information that is requested. I don't see any specific errors in dmesg that stand out here, but I've provided a dmesg from a boot when the keyboard would not function [0]. I will also upload a dmesg from a functional boot[1]. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1272338] Re: Xorg memory leak on trusty
I've had problems with Ubuntu 14.10 then 14.04.1 LTS then Linux Mint 17 and now Linux Mint Debian Edition. I managed to get the system monitor app up and found mate-settings-daemon was taking up the most memory and I couldn't kill the process. 1.8GB or more of my 2GB was taken up and eventually the two cores of my CPU started making sine and cosine waves in the system resources tab. I had to reboot again on my new installation. I had hoped whatever the problem was, it had been corrected by the fresh installation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1272338 Title: Xorg memory leak on trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1272338/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1041063] Re: mouse pointer periodically leaps to left and top of screen with absolute pointing devices
I encountered this bug with Ubuntu 12.10 beta 1 installed on A Lenovo T61p laptop. It only seemed to be an issue when using my Genius i608XE graphics tablet. The bug was so severe I had to uninstall and revert to 12.04. When Beta 2 came out I tried installing in Virtualbox to see if the bug was still present, which it is. I think it only affects absolute pointing devices so disabling mouse integration in Virtualbox would probably make the issue go away for many users. The symptoms were that as I moved the stylus around it would frequently jump all the way to the left, or to the top, and often to the top left of the screen. Naturally this made drawing and writing impossible. On the bright side the pressure sensitivity for the tablet was working in 12.10! (can't get it to work in 12.04) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041063 Title: mouse pointer periodically leaps to left and top of screen with absolute pointing devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1041063/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
