Hello. Thank you for your reply!
That's what I did, after it was suggested to me at stack exchange.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1823708] [NEW] package xterm 330-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: package is in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempting configuration

2019-04-08 Thread Vasiliy Shimko
Public bug reported:

That's all I know. It started with dpkg breaking after I ran out of
space (although I had 600 Mb still remaining) on root. I rebooted,
hoping it would go away, but then the GUI wouldn't boot and Terminal
wouldn't start, so I went to GRUB, tried dpkg again and then via root
shell tried freeing some space and this thing showed up, but at least
after that I was able to boot the GUI and log into the system. Sending
this whole thing, hoping that it somehow in someway might help with
something.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1703561] [NEW] Xorg crash on startup

2017-07-11 Thread Vasiliy Ivashin
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Xorg 1:7.7+13ubuntu3

Occasionally upon initial login system reports that an error has
occurred. It does not seem to happen every time on startup, but occurs
quite often. Afterward it does not seem to affect operation and
stability.

Please let me know if I can provide any other useful information for
debugging (I'm a linux newbie so may require some guidance for this).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1327958] [NEW] Sometimes X.org failed on system start

2014-06-09 Thread Vasiliy Pedak
Public bug reported:

System is booting up. Then I see ubuntu logo. Then it disappears and
screen is blinking during one second. Then I see the message in the
window like 'System can't start in full graphical mode'.

I press 'ok' button. And I see window which asks me to decide which
action to do next: 'proceed load in recovery graphics mode', 'restore
settings', 'archive logs', 'see startup error messages' etc...

So I decided to archive logs and I've attached them to this bug report.

I also tried to restore settings by clicking on corresponding menu item in the
window. But when I click 'OK' after recovery option selection nothing happens.
When I am clicked on menu item with message like 'proceed with recovery
graphical mode' ( I don't remember correct messages text ) then system asks me
to wait for minute and seems hangs.

After one or two tries to recover xorg settings from recovery mode I can
boot up again.

I've met this issues for the first time after I've removed nvidia
drivers. Why have I deleted them? :) Because brightness adjustment was
available in too small brightness range.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: Logs that I've collected from recovery mode

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 595773] Re: Screen flicker and sometimes crash

2010-11-13 Thread vasiliy-balakirev
I have found a stable method to reproduce the bug on my system.
I start:

env WINEPREFIX=/home/balakirev/.wine wine C:/Program
Files/Evernote/Evernote/Evernote.exe

then got flicker and that in syslog:

Nov 14 05:12:57 balakirev-laptop acpid: client 1423[0:0] has disconnected
Nov 14 05:12:57 balakirev-laptop acpid: client connected from 1423[0:0]

Nov 14 05:12:57 balakirev-laptop kernel: [ 992.173811] Skipping EDID probe due
to cached edid
Nov 14 05:13:21 balakirev-laptop kernel: [ 1015.467516] Skipping EDID probe due

Nov 14 05:13:21 balakirev-laptop kernel: [ 1015.754956] Skipping EDID probe due
to cached edid
Nov 14 05:13:24 balakirev-laptop kernel: [ 1018.536508] Skipping EDID probe due

...

I have messages from acpid about client and from kernel about EDID every time
when I start wine and every time I got flicker.
It can be somehow connected to the reasons of a bug and will help in it fixing.

I have messages from acpid about client and from kernel about EDID every time
when I start wine and every time I got flicker.
It can be somehow connected to the reasons of a bug and will help in it fixing.
This bug is very similar to bug#595773.
