As mentioned above, this error was caused by external factors and
incorrectly reported. Many thanks for attending to this report. Keep up

2009-12-05 Thread Vic Morgan
Hi Bryce,
I thought that had updated the report to indicate that the problem has
been avoided, if not resolved, and does not appear to be anything to do
with the OS. Thanks for the response and sorry for the trouble.

 Hi vic-morgan,

Thanks for including the attached files. Could you also include your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log (or Xorg.0.log.old) from after reproducing the issue?

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` too.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you

This problems appears to be caused byFirefox and a flash editor
(Potlatch) because exactly the same conditions appear on an XP machine
(sorry) using the same software. Any Ubuntu problems are a side effect
of the software instability.

Resolved! The problem was caused by radio interference from a USB drive
power supply. Thank you.

Update on this. I'm not sure if it resolves the issue yet, but when
using Checkbox i noted that the screens were set to outside the monitor
operational limits - although shown as auto in Nvidia utility. Checkbox
apprently changes the resolution settings, which must be selected back
to those required.
