[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1386721] Re: Graphics Slow After Upgrade 14.04 - 14.10
Affects me too. I have Unity and 14.10 upgraded from 14.04, Dell E7240 notebook with Core i7-4600U and integrated Intel Haswell-ULT video. First the problem seemed to appear after upgrade when I decided to try unity8 and installed it packages (the graphics remained slow even when I was in classic Unity session), and everything disappeared, when I removed unity8. Now the problem reappeared, and I found unity8 installed again. So I removed it with all the stuff depended on it and the is likely went away again. WARNING: if anyone would try my method, it removes indicator-network. I myself prefer nm-applet, it requires network-manager-gnome to be installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386721 Title: Graphics Slow After Upgrade 14.04 - 14.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1386721/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 781804] [NEW] Error in driver causes numerous sudden logouts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Since the natty dev-version (somewhere between alpha and beta) my session - both unity and gnome-classic - suddenly logouts in absolutely different cases, it can appear even when there is only urxvt open. Since apport isn't able to catch such crashes, I couldn't report it earlier, but when I tried lightdm today, I've found the backtrace in it's log (now I see, that gdm is also writing it): Backtrace: 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x80eab1b] 1: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x5fac8) [0x80a7ac8] 2: (vdso) (__kernel_rt_sigreturn+0x0) [0x77d40c] 3: /usr/bin/X (_CallCallbacks+0x3e) [0x8074e1e] 4: /usr/bin/X (WriteToClient+0x267) [0x80a7607] 5: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri2.so (ProcDRI2WaitMSCReply+0x62) [0x660bf2] 6: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri2.so (DRI2WaitMSCComplete+0x75) [0x65efc5] 7: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so (0x1b7000+0x226bc) [0x1d96bc] 8: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so (0x1b7000+0x87d2) [0x1bf7d2] 9: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libdrm.so.2 (drmHandleEvent+0xf5) [0x58f665] 10: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so (0x1b7000+0x7937) [0x1be937] 11: /usr/bin/X (WakeupHandler+0x52) [0x8074602] 12: /usr/bin/X (WaitForSomething+0x1ba) [0x80a1f3a] 13: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x27f1e) [0x806ff1e] 14: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x1a81c) [0x806281c] 15: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xe7) [0x84ce37] 16: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x1a411) [0x8062411] Segmentation fault at address 0xb4b44008 Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault).
