[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1357804] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 does not support 2560x1080 resolution.

2016-02-23 Thread William O'Meallain
Also problem, running 14.04 LTS with 9800GT and LG 2560x1080 monitor as
my primary in a dual-display setup. I was able to get that res by
reverting to non-nvidia drivers, but otherwise, still a bug.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1098274] Re: 12.04 LTS freeze when opening file browser (frequently)

2014-01-09 Thread William O'Meallain
Had to upgrade to 13.04 for another issue, and the error hasn't
recurred. It doesn't seem to happen on my desktop 12.04 LTS, so I have
to assume it was specific to a particular idiosyncrasy in my Acer
Ferrari 5000 laptop.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1098274] [NEW] 12.04 LTS freeze when opening file browser (frequently)

2013-01-10 Thread William O'Meallain
Public bug reported:

What used to be occasionally but now frequently, when attempting to open
the file browser or plug-in a USB drive, the file browser window opens
(without displaying files, i.e. blank window) and locks up at that
point. It's a HARD lock, no response, I get a steady flash on the HD
activity LED about 1/second. I never had this problem in 11.04 or
11.10, so pretty certain this is a build issue. I thought this just may
be resolved as I continue to update but hasn't improved in the past four
months of 12.04 LTS use. I'm a linux newb, so any additional
information or commands you need to see the results of, I'd be happy to
do with instructions!

Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

Acer Ferrari 5000
2GB RAM
Turion64 x2
ATI Mobility X1600

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
