Running lucid, I upgraded my xorg stuff to the latest, and built the .deb from the 10.6 installer. I'm not experiencing the annoying delays, but if I run glxinfo or fglrxinfo, I get the error message couldn't find RGB GLX visual Is anyone else getting that? Do we even know that this bug is on ATI's radar? I mean I see no indication on the upstream bug report that it is being looked at http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1546 The fact that ATI hasn't responded to the bug is the most frustrating part of all this. Either way though, I always end up regretting getting a laptop with ATI video. I was playing around with a second screen yesterday and experienced the exact same problem. However, it isn't specific to the 'right most' screen, it's whatever the second screen is, independent of relative positions. I configured the second screen with the ATI Control Center app that comes with the fglrx drivers, and the bug showed up with separate X screens, or with xinerama, but not with one unified screen (which makes sense). I also tried configuring the screens with the gnome display properties app, but got the same results. I can also verify that hooking up a usb mouse allows you to move the pointer back to the main screen. I tested the new driver with the standard xorg packages from jaunty, and then with the upgraded packages from the ppa, but the problem still exists in both. If all this is is a repackaging of the 9.6 driver from ati, then I've actually already tested that. I upgrade the driver using their script when I see a new one, because I'm always hoping this issue (or one of the other less annoying issues) will be resolved by the new version.
