[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1771185] Re: Secondary monitor not connecting in 18.04 LTS
Playing with different resolutions and rates using xrandr solved the problem for me on a DELL XPS 15 with Ubuntu 18.04. If I go with a resolution of 1920x1080 and a rate of 60 Hz the TV shows a black screen. Changing to other modes and rates solves the problem. For example, typing in a terminal xrandr --output DP-1-3 --mode 1360x768 --rate 60 made it work. If I go for a resolution of 1920x1080, I have output only for a rate of 25 Hz. I don't know why exactly this happens. Maybe it depends on the TV? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771185 Title: Secondary monitor not connecting in 18.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1771185/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1192908] Re: Mir/Mesa packaging have a dependency cycle so neither can build
This bugs is still valid. We don't have a problem with at this point, because we have both mir and mesa packages in the archive, so we can build new versions using the existing versions of -dev packages to fulfill dependencies (this needs some care when we make incompatible changes). I think our best way forward is to remove the dependency libegl1-mesa- dev has on libmirclient-dev. It's reasonable to assume that a program that needs to use Mir with EGL will depend on libmirclient-dev itself, or at least mircommon-dev (otherwise how can it know about the MirConnection/Surfaces types it needs to pass to EGL?). I would also recommend changing mesa to build depend on mircommon-dev instead of the full libmirclient-dev, since it only needs the Mir EGL definitions in the former package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1192908 Title: Mir/Mesa packaging have a dependency cycle so neither can build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1192908/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1192908 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1192908 This bug is still valid. We don't have a problem at this point, because we have both mir and mesa packages in the archive, so we can build new versions using the existing versions of -dev packages to fulfill dependencies (this needs some care when we make incompatible changes). I agree that our best way forward is to remove the dependency libegl1 -mesa-dev has on libmirclient-dev. It's reasonable to assume that a program that needs to use Mir with EGL will depend on libmirclient-dev itself, or at least mircommon-dev (otherwise how can it know about the MirConnection/Surfaces types it needs to pass to EGL?). I would also recommend changing mesa to build-depend on mircommon-dev instead of the full libmirclient-dev, since it only needs the Mir EGL definitions in the former package. Note, though, that as Daniel points in bug #1192908, we have a circular dependency issue at the source package level, that can't be solved unless we either use multiple source packages for Mir, or move our Mir Mesa EGL definitions upstream in Mesa, as Kevin suggested. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239037 Title: circular build-dependency between mesa, mir To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1239037/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Moreover, when I try to switch to the virtual consoles, instead of consoles. blank screens appear. This does not happen when the external monitor is connected. I use the same xorg.conf with 11.10. It occurs with lightdm, lxdm and kdm. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 600243] [NEW] libegl1-mesa-dev needs to depend on other -dev packages
Public bug reported: The libegl1-mesa-dev binary package includes egl.pc which contains: Requires.private: libdrm = 2.4.15 dri2proto = 2.1 glproto = 1.4.11 x11 xext xxf86vm xdamage xfixes Therefore, libegl1-mesa-dev should depend on the -dev packages that contain the required .pc files. The attached patch fixes this. Note, however, that a 100% correct fix should also offer an alternative version of egl.pc for the hurd-i386 architecture that doesn't include libdrm in Requires.private. Of course, Ubuntu is not affected by this. ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- libegl1-mesa-dev needs to depend on other -dev packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600243 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
