[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work

2012-04-14 Thread earthmeLon
*  Linux x64 3.0.0-17-generic
*  Sony Vaio VPCF126FM

I have installed the latest package (10) and removed/added the module from the
kernel.
dmesg shows "ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse as
/devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input18"

I would be very grateful if anybody could provide me with any additional
information that may get my touchpad working.
I am more than willing to provide any information that may help.

My ultimate goal is to disable the touchpad while typing, but I really do want
to experiment with multi-touch features.

Thanks for everybody who has contributed thus far.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 701717] Re: 'Mangler' unable to receive mouse input.

2011-01-13 Thread earthmeLon
I have tried that. I am able to 'set' all of the buttons, but it does
not work to start xmit. I have recently installed my G15 keyboard.
Could that be causing an issue?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 536793] Re: InstallArchives() Failed. package nvidia-glx-173 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 2

2010-03-16 Thread earthmeLon
Thanks. I was able to get the drivers to work by downloading the .deb,
removing all nvidia related packages (sudo apt-get purge nvidia) and
then installing the deb. This was all done in RECOVERY MODE!!! (Hold
shift while booting your computer to get into grub to select recovery
mode.)

Public bug reported:

When trying to install nvidia drivers in Ubuntu 9.10, whether through
envyng or Ubuntu's Proprietary hardware wizard, this error occurs. When
ORIGINALLY installing the drivers, there were no errors. After a couple
of days with no modifications, the computer would only boot into low
graphic mode and is returning these errors even after attempting to
purge all data/settings with $sudo apt-get purge nvidia*
