[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1710862] [NEW] Synaptics s3203 touchpad on Dell XPS12-9Q33 has no working buttons after recent upgrade

2017-08-15 Thread emk2203
Public bug reported:

The touchpad buttons don't work anymore after a recent system upgrade.
Cursor movement and tap options are unaffected - I get left button
functionality with a one-finger tap and right-button functionality with
a two-finger tap. Scrolling also works.

Hardware is OK (dual-boot shows that).

xev | grep -i button does not detect button presses, only if done by the
tap on the touchpad:

$ xev | grep -i button
ButtonPress event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x401,
state 0x0, button 1, same_screen YES
ButtonRelease event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x401,
state 0x100, button 1, same_screen YES
ButtonPress event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x401,
state 0x0, button 3, same_screen YES
ButtonRelease event, serial 36, synthetic NO, window 0x401,
state 0x400, button 3, same_screen YES

System is running x11, but wayland didn't make a difference.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1470862] Re: When using fglrx module, the virtual consoles are blank and useless

2016-04-13 Thread emk2203
Don't know if it makes sense to post, but I have the same bug
**without** fglrx, with NVIDIA hardware on a freshly installed Xenial
Xerus beta 2. It was there from the start. Maybe this helps finding the
root cause. It's not just fglrx.
