[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 865768] Re: lightdm fails to load with nvidia-current 280.13 on dual screen
Hi Bryce, I've since switched to using KDM as the login manager, but I the issue did seem to be resolved within a few days of the release. I would imagine it to be safe to close the bug report as no comments have been made since. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/865768 Title: lightdm fails to load with nvidia-current 280.13 on dual screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/865768/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 865768] Re: lightdm fails to load with nvidia-current 280.13 on dual screen
appears to be a race issue, the LightDM service starts before /dev/nvidiactrl is created. adding sleep 5 service lightdm start to rc.local provides a temporary fix.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 868516] Re: Lightdm presents a black, blank screen, unable to login in graphicly
have a look in /var/cache/apt/archives/ to see if you still have the old version of nvidia-current. should be current_280.13-0ubuntu4 (current_280.13-0ubuntu5 was the version causing issues on my system) if you do, then: sudo apt-get remove nvidia-current sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/nvidia-current_280.13-0ubuntu4_i386.deb sudo reboot should fix the issue. failing that, you might need to revert to the nouvea drivers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868516 Title: Lightdm presents a black, blank screen, unable to login in graphicly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/868516/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
