[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1965563] Re: gnome-extensions-app fails to start [Error reading events from display: Protocol error]
I don't know if this is helpful, but I had the org.gnome.Extensions flatpak installed, and it starts just fine under Wayland/nvidia. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1637271] [NEW] Desktop background is black after resume from suspend
Public bug reported: Running a standard 16.10 system with Unity 7, Intel i965 graphics, and a secondary external display. This behaviour has been observed under 16.04 and possibly earlier releases as well. Often (though frustratingly not always), when I resume from suspend, my desktop background will be solid black, my wallpaper is not visible. This is *not* the background colour I have selected in the Appearance settings. The system is fully usable when this occurs: cursor, icons, windows, etc. all render fine. If I change any Appearance setting (zoom/tile type, colour, image), it seems to refresh and my wallpaper is restored. Sometimes this only happens on my secondary display, and the wallpaper is still visible on my primary display. Please move this bug as appropriate, I wasn't quite sure what to report this against. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 668185] [NEW] Overscan Compensation not saved to nvidia-settings-rc
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-settings When choosing a display device and setting the Overscan Compensation to a specific value, it is not saved in the .nvidia-settings-rc file. As a result, this setting does not persist after a reboot. I have tried manually adding this option to .nvidia-settings-rc: 0/TVOverScan[DFP-1]=32 This seems to have no effect, however, and the setting is erased the next time nvidia-settings is run. I am using an LCD display via HDMI as opposed to TV-Out so this may not even be correct. Running 10.10 with nvidia-settings 260.19.12-0ubuntu1~xup (from ubuntu-x-swat PPA). FYI--I assume this is a dupe of bug #296418. ** Affects: nvidia-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Overscan Compensation not saved to nvidia-settings-rc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 614993] Re: 10.04 - 10.10 upgrade fails: pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks: xserver-xorg-video-v4l demoted to universe
Why is this bug marked as fixed? It still exists when upgrading from Lucid-Maverick, the upgrade cannot be calculated unless xserver-xorg- video-nouveau is first removed. This is a BUG. I should not have to look up this bug report and search through all the comments just to figure out how to complete an upgrade... [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 456637] Re: Please consider turning powermizer OFF
I do not support this bug. The users with faulty hardware that is affected by this bug, while significant, are not in the majority. I would be very frustrated if suddenly an Nvidia update caused Powermizer to be disabled for me. For most laptop users, this feature is crucial to obtaining decent battery life from these power-hungry graphics adapters. The solution is obviously for Nvidia to fix its drivers. I do think, however, that when a user installs the Nvidia driver a HUGE warning should pop up to advise users that they are installing a proprietary driver, that the code has not been validated by *anyone* and that it could very easily destroy their computer, that if they experience problems it is NOT Ubuntu's fault and to report all issues directly to Nvidia. -- Please consider turning powermizer OFF https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456637 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
