[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Hi Seth. Apologies, I was looking around for support for this when it din't work and just assumed it was the usual Alps on a Dell. I have found someone who has created an initial stab at a driver for the Cypress, I'm going to test it shortly. http://lwn.net/Articles/456366/ I miss the kernel bug tracker :( Cheers, jcat -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550625 Title: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/550625/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Hi Seth, You patch doesn't work for my new Dell Laptop, it's an XPS 15z. When I load the dell i8k module, it reports this info about the model. [ 297.412044] i8k: vendor=Dell Inc. , model=Dell System XPS 15Z, version=A05 It's a large touchpad with no stick, only buttons. I get this error in dmesg: [ 10.836407] alps.c: E6 report: 01 00 64 What information do you need from me to add support my touchapd? Thanks in advance. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 372345] Re: Compiz memory leak / Xorg memory leak
Hi, I'm experiencing this exact same issue with Jaunty, but using the Intel driver. I have to restart X twice a day at work! :) Can we get a similar fix for Intel users?
