[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1668428] Re: gnome screen shot behaves strange on zesty unity8
retested, overhauled description based on the latest findings (at least I no longer see the u8 lockup now) ** Summary changed: - gnome screen shot full lock up on zesty unity8 + gnome screen shot behaves strange on zesty unity8 ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Status: Incomplete => New ** Changed in: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** No longer affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) ** Also affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Description changed: - Feb 27 iso build of zesty, clean u8 exploration + Updated Mar 20 zesty, clean u8 exploration - gnome screenshot completely locks up the shell and eventually unity8 just restarts + gnome screenshot will seemingly quit, and will not capture the desired screen to repro: 1) launch screenshot app from the app drawer 2) make indications to take a screenshot ( i selected custom area to select) 3) "take screenshot" - result: complete lock up along with windowing oddity, frozen until unity8 res + result: application bail out, in the instance of "select area" case, it will take a screen shot in the instance of "full screen". + expected: get a screen shot of desired and the application should remain on screen. + + I suspect this is due to screenshot's reliance on X and our use of Xmir + not being completely worked out in terms of what the applications + perception of the screen vs it's own window is. ** Changed in: canonical-devices-system-image Assignee: kevin gunn (kgunn72) => Stephen M. ** Description changed: + From perspective of product management - this is currently not a + requirement, just want to capture it for future + we currently can't interact with puritine apps relying on the OSK to add this feature in where text-box selection on an xapp results in triggering the osk, in unity8 would be a very large/complicated effort. However, with a manual capability to trigger the OSK this could be achieved. For design team one idea was to add a show/hide button for the OSK. realizing this may be undesirable to add another indicator item - a follow-on idea might be to add an alpha button in the corner of the xmir-root window (the window that holds any xapp at the moment) this way the button presence would only be limited to the Xapp interaction. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1543351 Title: osk with puritine apps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-pocket-desktop/+bug/1543351/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

@Victor - which application are you seeing this is an issue? I just tested N7, removing keyboard works fine for ubuntu apps. I don't think this is an issue with connecting/disconnecting the keyboard. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1374131] [NEW] qtcreator-plugin autopkg test fails on AMD64 mesa mesa_10.3.0
Public bug reported: So, in the course of a unity8 package migration it got halted due to qtcreator-plugin autopkg test failing see here http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/proposed-migration/update_excuses.html which lead me to look at the jenkins run, note its only failling on amd64 arch and...you can see from here https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/utopic-adt-qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu/ARCH=amd64,label=adt/ it started failing about 24 hrs ago with can't init gxl...almost certainly meaning it's unhappy with mesa. low and behold the difference between the pasing jenkins and failing is passing - https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/utopic-adt-qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu/ARCH=amd64,label=adt/266/console which uses mesa 10.2.6-1ubuntu3 failing - https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/utopic-adt-qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu/ARCH=amd64,label=adt/267/console which uses mesa 10.3.0-0ubuntu1 So can we do a couple of things? - revert mesa and see if that fixes the autopkgtest to confirm - if so, please leave reverted until we find out why so we can actually continue landing our unity8/uitk/webbrowser stuff - lastly, might be good to add qtcreator-plugin as an autopkgtest dependency to land a new mesa sorry for marking critical, but we're sunk until we get this sorted ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Assignee: Maarten Lankhorst (mlankhorst) Status: New ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Critical ** Changed in: mesa (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Maarten Lankhorst (mlankhorst) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1374131 Title: qtcreator-plugin autopkg test fails on AMD64 mesa mesa_10.3.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1374131/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1318323] Re: Lack of Mir support in AMD fglrx driver
i agree, we shouldn't keep it open. In the ideal case, when GPU partners produce drivers (closed or open) it should just work(tm). However, it might be the case in the future that a GPU partner might produce a driver that mostly conforms in which case we will need to decide whether or not to create another platform to support it. But agreed, no need to keep a bug open for what may or may not happen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318323 Title: Lack of Mir support in AMD fglrx driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1318323/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
