[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1262291] Re: xorg crashes with bus error

2014-01-06 Thread nh2
I cannot test this with low effort, since it's on a Chromebook which
cannot boot external non-Chromium-OS boot media.

The only way is to upgrade all the way up. :(

I will try again when 14.04 is released.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1262291] [NEW] xorg crashes with bus error

2013-12-18 Thread nh2
Public bug reported:

Since my Upgrade to 13.10 I get regular Xorg crashes (logout back to the
login manager) on this Samsung Series 5 Chromebook.

It sometimes happens when the desktop is idle and I'm not using the
computer, but seems to appear more frequently when I do graphically more
advanced things like browsing in Firefox or starting a Google Hangout.

I have attached the stack trace. Please tell me if it looks like a
graphics driver bug, I'll report it upstream at Intel in that case.

Thanks!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1262291] Re: xorg crashes with bus error

2013-12-18 Thread nh2
I've tried updating to Xorg-edgers, but that didn't help.

I'll nex try to boot back into ChromeOS and update that, since Ubuntu
has to use its Kernel which is 3.4 on my system.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 573006] Re: Touch screen driver clicks at wrong location

2011-04-14 Thread nh2
I try: In the recording, I first moved the pointer in a fluid movement,
which works fine. Then I clicked at a different location, resulting in
what should happen: the pointer is moved and a click is emitted there.

But last, I did the same thing, clicked in top right direction of the
current pointer position. Then the pointer did not what it is expected
to do: Instead of being warped there and clicking, the pointer stayed at
is Y axis position and only moved on the X axis, therefore being moved
~300px to the right only instead of ~300px to the right and ~200px to
the top. Moving my finger (which is still on the screen) a bit, it makes
it finally jump up, but resulting in a selection from where it was up to
my finger.

Try starting the record with a gnome-terminal or a drawing program in
the background, probably this will show what I mean. If it does not,
please post here again, so that I can try to make a better recording.

In this record, I first swipe from bottom left to top right. Then I

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 414749] [NEW] Touchscreen fires incorrect events when moving fast

2009-08-17 Thread nh2
Public bug reported:

When I press a finger onto my touch screen (Dell Latitude 2100) on the
Desktop background and moving it around fast (especially down fast), the
context menu pops up. Using Karmic.

Xev shows a

root 0xff, subw 0x0, time 1900807, (73,116), root:(664,166),
state 0x0, button 3, same_screen YES

when that happens and some MotionNotifies later a

ButtonRelease event, serial 32, synthetic NO, window 0x401,
root 0xff, subw 0x0, time 1901664, (90,77), root:(681,127),

NOTE: I do not experience this on Jaunty.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 405943] Re: [regression] rapid pointer movements with touchpad ignored

Works fine for me, too.

@ Alberto Milone:
I don't think disabling the middle click corner tapping completely is the best
solution, but let's discuss this in Bug 386017.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 365943] Re: Mouse cursor jumps when two fingers are used

2009-08-11 Thread nh2
0.99.3-2ubuntu5 (it is in the X Updates PPA and Karmic, right?) causes
the same problems as stated in #4 on a Samsung NC10 and a Dell Latitude
2100. Both touchpads become almost unusable as when moving the finger
faster than snail speed, the cursor just stops moving and continues only
in small jumps, as if it had hung up somewhere.

A note: That two-finger-hopping is what I would have expected to happen
- most notebooks I've used running Windows Synaptic drivers do behave
exactly like this. I never knew it was a bug ;-)

If there is a patch to make the pad working again, I'll be glad to test
it.

2009-08-11 Thread nh2
For me, 1.1.2-1ubuntu2 in Karmic is broken with just those symptoms on
both netbooks. If I move the finger fast, the mouse is almost not
moving.

OK, here you are. I first moved both fingers slowly, then in the speed
which triggers the problems, then slowly again.
