[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993945] Re: ubuntu 3D frequent freezes with nouveau driver
Yesterday's upgrade from 10.04.4 to 12.04.1 brought me ramdom freezes. Before the desktop freezes, the display is messed up, like the picture in Comment #10. Same effect here with 6100 onboard graphics. Mouse is moving, but I cannot click anything. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 425992] Re: Screen fades white to black, xorg crashes on boot
I had 9.04 installed on an NCR 7402 POS device w/microtouch touch screen that exhibits the same problem. When I boot Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.31-14-generic it does the same thing as described above. Under Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.28-16-generic it boots correctly, and looks correct. However the touch screen never worked, which I believe to be an entirely different issue. I am not sure how to get a hold of the crash log for the first kernel since it crashes before the os loads.
