[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 411704] [NEW] intermittent system crashes supposedly caused by intel xorg driver

2009-08-10 Thread okubax
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Started about a week ago and now, it's really becoming a pain in my
ass. My Ubuntu Jaunty system now crashes/hangs/soft-freezes(whatever)
more than 6 times daily. First I thought it was becuause of the new
intel driver that I installed after following some steps mentioned on
Ubuntu Forums, after which Ireverted back to the original Ubuntu Jaunty
intel driver and then the nightmare really started. No matter what I am
doing, the system always crashes even when it is idle !. So I thought it
was time to look at my system logs to see what the hell was going on. I
found out that the evry time that my system crashes, it always logs an
error about this: drm:i915_getparam. Guess it had something to do with
intel drivers

the log extracts above are just some of the weird erros I get when my
system crashes. Don't know what's going on ??
