Booted in GNOME classic, went back to dual monitors. Even with one monitor, this continues to happen to me every couple days at work. This morning, I wasn't even watching video, just use my web browser, and I had it black out. Since first encountering this bug, I've limited myself to working on a single monitor. When I do this, the bug happens much less frequently, but it still does occur once every couple days. And it seems to happen when I have a video podcast going in Banshee. Since I got back from vacation, I've been running the wider of the two monitors solo using the VGA input. It worked fine for a little bit, but the last few days I've had about one crash per day where it blacks in exactly the same fashion as before. I havn't found a converter, but I did try the larger monitor on VGA for a day at work and it ran without problem. It had been on DVI before. I'm away from the office this week (It's Thanksgiving in the US) but I will try to find the parts and try the converter test next week.
