[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 582694] [NEW] macbookpro with latest nvidia drivers doesn't suspend or hibernate (it does with 170.x)
Public bug reported: I've seen a few bug reports on nvidia-graphics-drivers but I open a new one, since none of the previous seems to cover my problem. I think it all started while in Karmic and upgrading nvidia drivers. Whatever, I can confirm I have the same issue nowadays, in Lucid Lynx. Suspend doesn't work: it locks the screen, but not suspending it as it did befere, when using dirvers 195.36.15. When I switch back to using drivers 170.x, (the one available at the repos.), resume and suspend work again as expected (but firefox doesn't refresh properly the screen when scrolling a long page down or up. - chromium does refresh the screen properly... it seems so odd, but anyway, that's another issue, with that earlier driver; with the latest one, refreshing page with ff works fine). I wish I could find the 190.x drivers that other reported that were working fine for them (I'm running on 32 bits) My machine is a MacBookPro 5.5 ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- macbookpro with latest nvidia drivers doesn't suspend or hibernate (it does with 170.x) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 582694] Re: macbookpro with latest nvidia drivers doesn't suspend or hibernate (it does with 170.x)
I can confirm that everything works as expected with the previous drivers 190.53 from nvidia web page. (suspend resume working fine (and quickly), and firefox showing ok long pages while scrolling) -- macbookpro with latest nvidia drivers doesn't suspend or hibernate (it does with 170.x) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 320173] Re: [jaunty] Mouse and keyboard stop responding
I have the same problem described on this bug. Randomly, the system stops responding to keyboard and mouse events. I only can work with current active window (example: console, web browser, etc), but without using mouse (clic doesn't work) or using menu with keyboard (Alt+F for file does not work). I can, for example, run programs from a terminal if it was the active program at the freeze time, or browse in a webpage (only with arrows, enter and tab key). ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released = New -- [jaunty] Mouse and keyboard stop responding https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320173 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
