Adrien Lamothe, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Spoke too soon. Looks like the right click function still doesn't work, otherwise it works much better. This is true in 12.04 and also in 12.10 before I stopped using that version. Will try to install 13.04 soon and see how it works there. I think this particular touchpad is common in many laptops, so it would be a good idea to get it working properly. I reinstalled 12.04.1 precise and the tochpad works fine (unsure if it took the updates or not.) Another observation: when setting the ETPS/2 with 'synclient Clickpad=1', you lose the setting when the computer shuts down. So you need to add the command to the .bashrc file of every user who has a desktop login.
