Thanks for the suggestions. I upgraded my drivers to version 304.48 and the problem didn't go away. As a side note, I had to do it from the console, the graphical tool was giving me errors when trying to install the experimental package. >From a brief glance at the logs it seems you may have Nvidia version 295.49 and Nvidia has released a newer 304.43 driver which may fix your issue. Go to the "additional drivers" menu and make sure you have the latest version selected. Then, close the menu and open a Terminal and do 'sudo apt-get update'. If non updates pop up for Nvidia graphics drivers then close the update tool and use the Dash to find "software sources". If they do then install the Nvidia updates and reboot.
