2012-12-27 Thread bugbot
We're closing this bug since there has not been a response from the original
reporter. However, the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the
requested information. If you're not the original reporter, we'd prefer you
file a new bug report.

Some tips:

  * Report X.org bugs via the command:  `ubuntu-bug xorg`

  * Test against the latest development Ubuntu.
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/
Bugs marked as affecting the development version tend to get priority
attention.

  * The `xdiagnose` utility has functionality for enabling debugging and
analyzing a few common X problems.

  * Tag your bugs with the Ubuntu versions you have reproduced the issue
in.

  * See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting for tips on writing good bug
reports.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1082187] Re: Asus “out of area” warning in the middle of the screen

2012-12-03 Thread Bryce Harrington
Hmm, well the modeline itself doesn't appear to have changed:

X.Org X Server 1.11.3:
[86.127] (II) RADEON(0): Modeline 1680x1050x60.0 146.25 1680 1960 2136
2240 1050 1053 1059 1089 -hsync +vsync (65.3 kHz)

X.Org X Server 1.13.0:
[25.032] (II) RADEON(0): Modeline 1680x1050x60.0 146.25 1680 1960 2136
2240 1050 1053 1059 1089 -hsync +vsync (65.3 kHz eP)

The eP difference just means it's the preferred mode from edid. So,
this rules out it being an altered modeline.

2012-11-27 Thread Thibaut Brandscheid
The ASUS warning message could also mean something like “outside comfort
zone” (too high FPS or something like that).

Here a more detailed start up screen description:
- GRUB
- short screen flicker
- black screen with ASUS error dialog “searching btrfs filesystems” at the top
- LightDM...

I collected the log files form a 12.04.1 live cd.

2012-11-26 Thread Bryce Harrington
Reboot into a 12.04 or 12.10 livecd, collect /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the
output of dmesg, and attach here. If the error message really means
out of range, then perhaps the modeline being used has changed.

what is the native resolution of the monitor?

is it a regression from an earlier release?

Yes, it's a regression. With 12.04 12.10 I had no monitor problem.

what is the native resolution of the monitor?
The native resulution is 1680 x 1050
