Thanks for your interest, Christopher M. Penalver. Original bug was reported on a Dell Dimension E520. This machine has been moved and has no longer access to a second monitor. The test with trusty was done with a laptop Toshiba Satellite A665. I'm afraid I've been mainly using LTS versions. I can only say that it worked well on 10.04, but it doesn't in 12.04. Does the bug regarding saving the X config file has been reported? Hi, I downloaded and installed trusty. I installed the 331.38 nvidia driver, updated the system with 'Software Updater', and rebooted. I'm not able to set separate X screens because there's a bug on nvidia- settings that won't allow me to save the configuration (option: 'Save to X Configuration File'). Not able to save it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and not able to save to a file on my user home directory. There's no different if I run nvidia-settings as a regular user or as root (gksudo nvidia-settings). I guess I should report this bug as a new one? Pablo Piaggio, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.
