[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1199959] Re: Xorg freeze
Benedict Holland, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Thank you for your understanding. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1199959] Re: Xorg freeze
My initial prognosis of not working on UEFI is incorrect. I think it is the upgrade to 13.10 or 13.04. My laptop sometimes has this same problem and UEFI is not enabled on it. This is a very bad intermittent bug. My computer cannot start up. I honestly do not understand why it has been about a month and the bug has not even been given any priority. At one point I had to reboot 20 times, rebooted into safe mode, rebooted again, and it magically worked. Not being able to intermittently use a computer seems to be about as serious a bug as you can get without having something eat your hard drives or corrupt your file system. If you need help fixing this bug, please let me know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1199959 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1199959/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
