[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1328528] Re: No 3D acceleration with radeon driver and Radeon HD 6410D
Okay, so I've removed the proprietary driver and then rebooted with the normal driver with nomodeset removed. However, it won't boot to the login screen and crashes after the initial Ubuntu splash screen. I'm left with a splodge of purple at the bottom of the screen. I can't switch to a terminal using Ctrl-Alt-F1 and numlock doesn't work, so it looks like it's properly crashed. Is there anything I can do to help debug this? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1328528] Re: No 3D acceleration with radeon driver and Radeon HD 6410D
It's the nomodeset that disables acceleration. Please attach the debug logs with that removed. ** Package changed: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) = xserver-xorg- video-ati (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1328528 Title: No 3D acceleration with radeon driver and Radeon HD 6410D To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1328528/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1328528] Re: No 3D acceleration with radeon driver and Radeon HD 6410D
I should add that when I first installed Ubuntu on the same computer, I had to specify the option nomodeset, otherwise I just got a white screen. After installation the driver did not work, which is why I tried the proprietary driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1328528 Title: No 3D acceleration with radeon driver and Radeon HD 6410D To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1328528/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
