Sorry I got a working xorg adding nomodeset to boot but the screen resolution is wrong (1024x768 instead of FHD 1920x1080). Please re-open this bug. I own the same motherboard: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2N68AM_PLUS/ with last bios version 1804. I recently upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04. 12.04 was working flawlessly. Luckily I retained the old 3.2.0-83-generic-64 kernel from 12.04.
