Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1405949] Re: Lenovo yoga pad screen doesn't rotate

2015-02-24 Thread Darrel Knobloch
Mr. Penalver,

I am new to Ubuntu having using MS OSs for years. I am not a developer so
the information you and others have been requesting is foreign to me. All
I know is that the Lenovo laptop I am using came with Windows 8 and when I
rotated the monitor the screen followed it, but it doesn't with Ubuntu.
The instructions you are asking me to follow don't make sense to me, so I
can't follow them - I'm just a basic user, you see.

It is my understanding that Ubuntu would like to know about these types of
issues, so I submitted the original question. If you would like to have
more information on my machine, I would agree to allow you to access it
remotely to do your testing.

Darrel Knobloch, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
 http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

 apport-collect -p xorg 1405949

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.

As well, given the information from the prior release is already
available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be
 helpful.

 Thank you for your understanding.

 Title:
Lenovo yoga pad screen doesn't rotate

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
   Incomplete

 Bug description:
The Lenovo Yoga pad is normally in the landscape position. When it is
folded into a tablet and rotated to the portrait position, the screen
should rotate with it, but it doesn't. It is running 14.04 with all
the latest updates. Is there a fix for this?
