[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1525477] Re: X server crash when pasting selection using middle button in Chromium

2021-05-24 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu.
Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end of standard support in April 2021:

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

If you would like to continue with free support then please update to a
newer Ubuntu version and tell us if the problem still occurs.

If you would like to continue with Ubuntu 16.04 then there is a paid
support option detailed at https://www.ubuntu.com/esm

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1525477] Re: X server crash when pasting selection using middle button in Chromium

2017-03-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Andrei Borzenkov, given this is addressed in the latest release of
Ubuntu, 16.04 would receive the relevant X fix(es) as a part of the
16.04 enablement stack noted in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack.

Andrei Borzenkov, one may install chromium in the live environment if
one has the universe repository enabled via

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1525477] Re: X server crash when pasting selection using middle button in Chromium

2017-02-21 Thread Andrei Borzenkov
It does not look like live image includes Chromium (at least, I do not
see it in Dash search results), so unfortunately I cannot test it - the
problem so far was observed only when pasting in Chromium.

Andrei Borzenkov, to see if this is already resolved in Ubuntu, could
you please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise
to the results?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1525477] Re: X server crash when pasting selection using middle button in Chromium

2017-02-12 Thread Andrei Borzenkov
Still valid in Ubuntu 16.04.2 with HWE kernels and Xorg. It is beyond my
understanding why you would need BIOS version for this, but if you
insist ...

A14
12/26/2016

And no, there is of course no improvement after updating BIOS.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1525477] Re: X server crash when pasting selection using middle button in Chromium

2016-01-08 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Andrei Borzenkov, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better.

As per http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-
support/product/latitude-e5450-laptop/drivers/advanced an update to your
computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (A10). If you update to
this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it
change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark
this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.
