Hi, I had not used my laptop in a while and your message prompted me to upgrade my packages and try again with a newer version before adding more information. The problem I described does not occur anymore now -- I tried with the latest kernel 4.4.0-30-generic and with the latest tuxonice version 4.4.0-28-generic-tuxonice. Thank you all ! Thanks for the suggestion to upgrade the BIOS. The laptop is brand new, so I did not think the BIOS would be out of date. I did the upgrade but the problem persists. Strangely, after opening the lid, the mouse cursor appears on the login screen (the session is automatically locked when the lid is closed). I had the same issue on an E7450 laptop. Linux rune 4.6.0-040600rc4-generic #201604172330 SMP Mon Apr 18 03:32:32 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I had upgraded the kernel, but this didn't fix the issue.
