[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 160866] Re: Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps.
This bug is accumulating me-too comments however for X bugs it's required to file Xorg.0.log, dmesg, and other such files that aid in diagnosing problems. I think it would be better for individuals still experiencing this issue in natty to file new bug reports with this data. You can do this easily by running the command 'ubuntu-bug xorg'. Everything will be automatically collected and filed for you. From reviewing the description, it sounds like the video settings are being adjusted by certain video player applications, and/or being tweaked through various configuration tools, and settings are not being persisted correctly. Check your configuration files. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160866 Title: Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 160866] Re: Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps.
I am experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu 10.04. As noted in comment #25, simply opening NVidia X Server Settings (without changing any settings) temporarily fixes the problem (that is, colors are corrected, and stay corrected for some time. The problem seems to occur randomly; however, I have noticed that the problem frequently re-occurs when I have been opening VOB files, after which I see a marked blue hue in either Movie Player or VLC until I perform the work-around. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160866 Title: Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Same problem here, but only on tvtime. My workaround is just open NVIDIA X Server Settings at System/Administration menu, to fix hue for a while. -- Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Might this bug be a duplicate of bug #409640 ? The very easy fix I found there fixed it for me. I also noticed that videos were blue after upgrading to Karmic.
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 160866] Re: Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps.
I am experiencing hue shift in all my video players. The hue shift makes skin color look a slightly greenish blue, close to cyan. That which should be dark red becomes dark green. I primarily use VLC, but the same problem is in Movie Player and MPlayer. In VLC, I adjusted the hue to correct the issue, but the issue in inconsistent. When I start a video, the issue may or may not be active. If I fullscreen the video, if the issue is inactive, it then may activate, or if it is active, it may stop, or there will be no change. I also get the same result when I skip ahead in the video, forcing me to be constantly turning off and on the hue adjustment. I was thinking of doing a clean install of v9.10, but from the comments on this thread, doing so won't fix the problem. Don't know if this is a contributing factor, but I am using the NVIDIA graphics driver v185.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 160866] Re: Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps.
Confirmed problem also exists in the newest release Karmic Koala (9.10) Beta. I don't really know what other information you need, the bug seems to be to be rather universal, so telling my system settings etc. etc. don't seem to make any difference when you have so many people with such various systems with the same problem. Nonetheless, problem persists in the beta. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Confirmed -- Hue color Contrast way off on Video apps. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
