I saw around a few report about the same problem with chrome (in ubuntu 16.10 and 16.04). bagl0312, Chrome doesn't use WebKit; they use Blink (which is admittedly a webkitgtk fork). You already have the latest webkit2gtk since those are being pushed out as security updates to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. The webkit2gtk fix was a workaround according to the webkitgtk developers.
