[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1666441] Re: Unable to click VMware Workstation Player window in fullscreen mode

2017-03-10 Thread Vaclav Cermak
Hm, I don't have any free machine/disk for such experiments. And I don't
want to install alpha system on production machine. In fact, I want LTS
there.

There isn't any way how to prepare live USB with Nvidia drivers? Or
switch them on running system? Stop Xorg, remove Nouveau kernel module,
load NVidia, run Xorg, or similar way?

2017-03-09 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Vaclav Cermak, I would recommend installing it to test.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1666441] Re: Unable to click VMware Workstation Player window in fullscreen mode

2017-03-09 Thread Vaclav Cermak
How can I use NVidia driver with live system? After boot it uses
Nouveau. I tried to install NVidia driver, log out, but I cannot log in
then. After reboot I'll get Nouveau again.

Sorry for probably dumb question, but I never tried this before.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1666441] Re: Unable to click VMware Workstation Player window in fullscreen mode

2017-03-09 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Vaclav Cermak, to help narrow this down to a driver issue, could you
please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ with the
package nvidia-graphics-drivers-375 to confirm it's reproducible?

** Summary changed:

- Unable to click VMware Player window in fullscreen mode
+ Unable to click VMware Workstation Player window in fullscreen mode

** Description changed:

- When I run VMware Player in fullscreen mode, the top bar is hidden, but
- it still takes mouse events and I cannot click to underlying VMware
- window. This happens randomly.
+ With Ubuntu as a host, using VMWare Workstation 12 Player 12.5.2
+ build-4638234. When I put a Windows 7 guest in fullscreen mode, the top
+ bar is hidden, but it still takes mouse events and I cannot click the
+ underlying VMware window. This happens randomly.

Seems like it is the same like in this expired bug:
