[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 312353] Re: improper mouse hover behavior with links
Please disregard comment #59 because the issue was an error in the javascript that was causing a recursive function to be called via javascript improperly. Once this was fixed the flashing hover icon no longer happens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312353 Title: improper mouse hover behavior with links ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 312353] Re: improper mouse hover behavior with links
I can replicate this bug consistently on a website that uses javascript code from jQuery, Twitter, and Facebook. I can give the link to the website if desired (it is a website I developed) or the direct link to the simple javascript file so please let me know if that is desired. It appears to happen after a setTimeout is triggered to a javascript function that does innerHTML. The innerHTML file uses data from an XMLHttpRequest (AJAX) to replace data in a div. With Firefox 2.0: hovering the top Flash banner in the site given above always makes the cursor flicker (happens because of the scrolling text below it). With Minefield: sometimes you can get the same behavior as Firefox 2, more or less randomly (depends on various factors, like lost focus, it seems). What happens everytime, however, is when your cursor is out of the banner, and you then move it over the banner. It will flicker for a split second at first (from arrow to hand pointer), then the hand pointer will stay. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Move your cursor over the Flash banner Actual Results: Cursor flickers (can cause lag too). Expected Results: No cursor flickering. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 312353] Re: improper mouse hover behavior with links
Since reinstalling with 10.10 I am also experiencing this bug. It seems to be periodic, in that if left alone, the cursor will change with a particular cycle, even if this is somewhat variable. This exists even if using the stable xorg updates PPA. I just started seeing this bug in 10.10 (maverick), happens in both firefox 3.6.11 and 3.6.12. Seems to happen when flash is loaded, or when a javascript-heavy page is open in one of my tabs. Then, in any tab, whenever I move the mouse, scroll, type, or hover over the location bar, the cursor flickers between the link finger and the proper cursor for the context. -- improper mouse hover behavior with links https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Same problem in Karmic, Firefox 3.5.8. When the glitch happens, sometimes you can see that another button in the Firefox menu bars is blinking like the cursor.
