This bug affects me on Kubuntu 9.10 64-bit. My Xorg freezes and uses 100 % CPU if I open the JPG mentioned in the first post. The only way out is to kill Xorg process. This bug was fixed in the package libdrm - 2.4.11-0ubuntu1 --- libdrm (2.4.11-0ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low * New upstream release * Add 100_bo_cache_up_to_64mb.patch. Cherrypick from upstream. This avoids making objects significantly bigger than they would be otherwise, which would result in some failing at binding to the GTT. Fixes issue with hangs viewing large images. Same here. I have 965 and when UXA is enabled compiz loads fine in Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 but when, for example a window switch takes place the whole X freezes and only the mouse is moving. I cannot get back to console anymore, although the system seem to function normally. Hard disk works every now and then and my servers are running fine. It's really annoying. With 8.04 there wasn't any problem with the intel driver and compiz worked just fine. If this is the new intel-x11 combo and UXA is here to stay, then it sucks. Without UXA rendering is too slow. So it's quite an issue. Hope someone finds out something about this bug... As soon as i get a log out of my machine i will post it as well. Thx in advance!
