It happens to my installation too. Chipset is Intel 945gme within a NC10 Samsung Netbook Laptop. I have the remix installed and update the system frequently. The Xserver installed: xserver-xorg: Installiert: 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 Kandidat: 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 Versions-Tabelle: *** 1:7.4~5ubuntu18 0 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 500 ftp://ftp.tugraz.at jaunty/main Packages As mentioned above after reboot the system comes up as usual, while the system is running nothing changes on the external screen. Bryce, Karmic doesn't seem to be stable enough for me to check it on my system, it never stayed up long enough for me to install the Myth frontend. The version I downloaded is from 6 weeks ago or so, would it make sense to download a more recent version? Thanks! Well, next I'd like to forward this issue upstream, but first it must be retested on latest development version of Karmic to make sure the issue still happens there with the latest code. ISO images are available at http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/. If you can reproduce it in the LiveCD environment, you shouldn't need to modify your installed system.
