have seen this bug fixed are testing the soon-to-be-released 10.04.

Could you try testing one of the 10.04 RC images?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 404509] Re: [i945gm] Display mirrored-ish after resume

2010-04-25 Thread Christopher Barrington-Leigh
I am tentatively marking  https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567876 as a
duplicate of this one.

I am using the latest karmic on a netbook (hp mini 1116NR) with Intel
GMA950 graphics, and the display settings are also messed up after
resume: they are in a low-resolution mirrored state. AS described above,
this happens when going into sleep mode -- it is clearly visible before
the unit powers down as it goes to sleep.

So more reports would be useful to see who else still suffers from this.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 404509] Re: [i945GM] Display mirrored-ish after resume

2010-02-09 Thread Pedro Côrte-Real
I have what I assume is the same issue. Relevant versions:

$ uname -a
Linux nash 2.6.31-19-generic #56-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 28 02:39:34 UTC 2010 x86_64
GNU/Linux

$ dpkg -l | grep video-intel
ii  xserver-xorg-video-intel   2:2.9.0-1ubuntu2.1
  X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display driver

Every time I suspend/resume I have to switch to a console and then back
to X to get the video output correct as it will be strangely mirrored
otherwise. Is there anything else that I can report?

 thanks.

I can confirm it has happened today off 2.6.31-4-generic #23-Ubuntu
( linux-image-2.6.31-4-generic   2.6.31-4.23 )
which I believe is based off rc4.

One observation is that I actually saw the display go into this mirrored
mode during the hibernate process. When I hit the hibernate button I saw
a notification saying the networking was down, then the screen flashed and
after the flash it was in this hibernated view and then after the customary
disk IO it went to sleep.

The X server version this week is:
xserver-xorg-video-intel   2:2.8.0-0ubuntu1
X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display driver

(I rebooted after doing an update yesterday and then hibernated last
night).
