[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 43710] Re: nvidia card: hangs on start gdm if a second monitor on DVI-I is present

2010-03-27 Thread Jason Wagner
Still reproduces with 20100326 live CD.
Again, disconnect second display, and I'm able to get into X.

Is anyone looking at this? What further information can I provide?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 43710] Re: nvidia card: hangs on start gdm if a second monitor on DVI-I is present

2009-12-06 Thread マーク
Ran into this problem on Ubuntu 9.10 w/ GeForce 9500 GT (DVI x2).
Workaround:

1. Shutdown computer.
2. Unplug second monitor from DVI on graphics card.
3. Boot up ubuntu (X will work on the single display).
4. Install latest restricted NVIDIA driver.
5. Shutdown computer.
6. Plug in second monitor.
7. Boot up ubuntu.
8. Launch nvidia-settings and to configure dual-display.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 43710] Re: nvidia card: hangs on start gdm if a second monitor on DVI-I is present

2009-08-29 Thread Naveen N Rao
I am facing the same issue with Karmic alpha 4. If a single port is connected
(DVI or VGA), X starts up fine; with both ports connected, I see vertical line
patterns on my CRT monitor (VGA) and blank screen on my LCD monitor (DVI). I
have gathered some logs:
- Xorg.0.log.failed-on-boot: X server log when booted with both ports
connected. (garbled display)
- xorg.conf.failed: xorg.conf generated using 'Xorg -configure' after switching
to console.
- Xorg.0.log.failed-with-generated-xorg-conf: Log collected again starting X
using the generated xorg.conf above. (garbled display)
- Xorg.0.log.working-on-boot: X server log when booted with only DVI
connection. (proper display)
- xorg.conf.working: Generated xorg.conf.
- Xorg.0.log.working-with-generated-xorg-conf: Log collected using the above
xorg.conf, no that it'll change anything (proper display)

- Naveen
