I added the following line to /etc/sudoers: dirk ALL = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/synclient where you of course have to exchange dirk with your username. Same problem on a different laptop (asus a9rp), did sudo synclient RTCornerButton=2 and it worked again, however I have to do that every time I start a session. In the same way, hitting the touchpad with two fingers now acts as right clicking, three acts as middle clicking, which was reversed under 9.04.
