There is no upgrade bug. Don't reopen this one if you have driver
issues.. File a new one instead. Note that fglrx/nvidia don't work yet,
and that's normal for a devel release like lucid alpha1.

Have done a new install very carefully and still ran unto video
problems. was able to get x up and running. Had to reconfigure video
resolution. I am running but dist.upgrade is still not right. Thanks for
help.

I have never accepted This or had a problem with dist upgrade.This is a
valid problem with dist. update and it should be fixed. If not to keep
it from happening to some one else.. thanks

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your 
/var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this 
issue.  If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.
