We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response
from Shaya.  However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information.  Also, if you could, please test
against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms
the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

backtrace resembles that for bug 509468, which has the log files. I
can't reliably trigger the bug, though, and trying to do so under Lucid
is not practical for me at this time. If Ubuntu makes reporting bugs in
a way they will accept harder than switching to another distribution,
guess what will happen?

Thank you for reporting this bug. We need 3 more pieces of information:
1. Could you test the new ubuntu version (Lucid) to verify that it also happens 
there? You can download alpha1 from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/10.04/ 
and a recent daily image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/ . 
2. We need a full backtrace. The one that appears in Xorg.0.log is something 
like a summary backtrace. A full backtrace contains more information about 
exactly what goes wrong. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for more 
information about how to obtain a full backtrace (preferably with Lucid).
3. We need some log files to identify your system. The easiest way for you to 
provide this is by running `apport-collect 500208` (again, preferably with 
Lucid).
