** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg I have two days ago attached an external TFT monitor to my HP Compaq nx6115 notebook. The monitor is Viewsonic VA1912. I set up dual displays using System-Preferences-Display as a mirror. I have noticed that the external viewsonic monitor suddenly goes blank and the display stops working. A message pops up saying No signal. The notebook display however, is working fine. On the two occassions that this has happened, I was using the mouse. In the first instance, some link in Firefox and in the recent incident, a mail header in thunderbird. as Xorg.0.log.old shows there seems to have been some problem with X (ddxSigGiveup) which made the second monitor go blank. It happened again! Soon after I filed the report. My observation is that it is related to mouse movements. Something happens to X at certain points when the mouse is moving.
