[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 559066] Re: 1024x768 85Hz display resolution leads to Signal Out of Range

2014-01-05 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Vincenzo, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 559066] Re: 1024x768 85Hz display resolution leads to Signal Out of Range

2010-07-19 Thread madbiologist
Comment 14 could be the result of the same patch that has now made it's
way into kernel 2.6.33.6. From the changelog:

commit 6cd696f116dc7cefc0b13765e9c7f58a8e19558b
Author: Adam Jackson
Date: Thu May 13 14:55:28 2010 -0400

drm/edid: Fix 1024x...@85hz

commit 61dd98fad58f945ed720ba132681acb58fcee015 upstream.

Having hsync both start and end on pixel 1072 ain't gonna work very
well. Matches the X server's list.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 559066] Re: 1024x768 85Hz display resolution leads to Signal Out of Range

2010-05-26 Thread Vincenzo
I also have this problem on Fedora 13 (kernel 2.6.33). I have put the
kernel 2.6.34 on Fedora 13 (taken by the repository of Fedora 14) and I
don't have this problem anymore. Now, I can set the resolution of
1024x768 + 85 hz.

Also with OpenSuse 11.3 (kernel 2.6.34 rc8) I don't have problems.

I suppose that culprit of my problems is the kernel 2.6.33.
