[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 575149] Re: external screen does not work consistently
** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg When plugging in an external LCD Screen (LG Flatron L1915S) into my Thinkpad R60 Laptop, it works only very inconsistently. What happens is that the screen shows for a split-second and then goes dark. This behaviour occurs sometimes when resuming from hibernation, or just when hotplugging the screen. I even had it when booting up with the screen connected. I am finding it difficult to pinpoint the exact conditions of the error. Further, when it does work, as soon as I plug in the external screen, all desktop effects are disabled, and I have to enable them again. Also, Desktop effects don't work when displaying on both screens. The bug report command was run at a time where the external monitor was working.
