[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 576062] Re: Using the HP dv6700 touch-pad disable button causes unresponsive keyboard and mouse/touch-pad
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics When typing a paper, it's often needed to turn off the touch pad by pressing the hardware disable button. Upon trying to re-enable the touch pad by pressing the button again the system will not recognize mouse clicks. The cursor will follow touch pad movements, but clicking on anything at all doesn't work. No left clicking and no right clicking. Using an external mouse does not help or work either. Keyboard input is also disabled. This behavior is new for this laptop and only appeared in 10.04. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 576062] Re: Using the HP dv6700 touch-pad disable button causes unresponsive keyboard and mouse/touch-pad
Hi crjackson Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the current Ubuntu stable release(maverick ubuntu 10.10), this would help us a lot. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect bug #, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low -- Using the HP dv6700 touch-pad disable button causes unresponsive keyboard and mouse/touch-pad https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/576062 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 576062] Re: Using the HP dv6700 touch-pad disable button causes unresponsive keyboard and mouse/touch-pad
i am using a HP dv5-1157 and have the same problem, if I disable the touchpad with the hardware button - the keyboard becomes unresponsive, when i enable the touchpad - the mouse will move but the clicks are not recognized and the keyboard remains unresponsive. This leads to a hard reboot. steve -- Using the HP dv6700 touch-pad disable button causes unresponsive keyboard and mouse/touch-pad https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/576062 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
