the same happens with the 32bit version of ubuntu 10.04 installed on the system. Touchpad is _unusable_ and renders mouse unusable as well unless disabled by running # modprobe -r psaux please help. Okay, found a mouse and the behaviour is the same More information on that one: It is only button1 that is affected and it is the same with the touchpad or a mouse. A usb mouse plugged in will work at first, but then lose the use of the left (Button1) mouse button, as verified using xev | grep -i button Only Button2++ presses are reported after a while. Apart from time of use, I have not found anything in particular that will reproduce this behaviour. Number of clicks seems not to be the problem, counting repeated clicks in xev did not reproduce failure of Button1. Where to look next??
