fuy, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . This also affects me. Toshiba A660-01T, Intel Mobile HD chipset. I'm also affected, closing and re-opening the lid causes the display to flicker in irregualar intervals. I' using an Acer 1825 with an Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) c. Calling sudo get-edid, however, seems to fix the problem. I have found a stable method to reproduce the bug on my system. I have messages from acpid about client and from kernel about EDID every time when I start wine and every time I got flicker. Unfortunately, affects me too.
