[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 606853] Re: Screen goes black randomly

2010-07-30 Thread Markus
I had 10.10 Alpha 2 running for several hours yesterday and nothing
exceptional happened. I installed all updates for 10.04 and had the
laptop running for several hours without the screen going black. I did
not change anything except for installing all updates (I last updated
before I posted by first report on July 18th).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 606853] Re: Screen goes black randomly

2010-07-23 Thread Markus
Thank you, I will test it with Alpha 2 of 10.10 today.

mar...@fred:~$ lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3400
Series

For my graphics card there is a proprietary driver available, is my
issue a driver-related one and can be fixed by using that driver?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 606853] Re: Screen goes black randomly

2010-07-18 Thread kurt belgrave
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with
the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Maverick
Meerkat. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on
getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about
the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we
appreciate your help.
Also if you can run lspci | grep VGA we will see if it is a intel driver
problem.
Cheers
