Screen went black again today after working 2 hrs with all the latest updates installed. I had 10.10 Alpha 2 running for several hours yesterday and nothing exceptional happened. I installed all updates for 10.04 and had the laptop running for several hours without the screen going black. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Maverick Meerkat. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu.
